Fire Station Locations


The Department has four active fire stations

Cross staffing is when the same personnel work on two or more different pieces of equipment. Depending on the emergency they will take the appropriate equipment which puts the other equipment out of service for the duration of the emergency.

Station 1

This station was built in 1948 at 2342 Gettle St by Fire District #1. This station has had several additions over the years. The original building was never designed for the services we provide today

 

 

Equipment and Personnel:

1 front line engine with 1 Captain and 2-3 Firefighters, they cross staffs a water tender and a brush rig

1 full time ambulance with 2 paramedics

The station usually has 1 backup fire engine, ambulance, utility pickup and air trailer.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Station 2

This station was built in 1978 at 7110 Hilyard Av by Fire District #1. 

Equipment and Personnel:

1 front line engine 1 Captain, 2 Firefighters, they cross staff a brush rig

 

The station also houses the State Regional Haz-mat Team 4. The Haz-Mat team utilizes on and off duty personnel to operate during emergencies. The station occasionally has a backup ambulance

 

 

 

Station 3

This station was recently built with help from a Federal Grant. It is located at 1661 Mitchell Street and replaced the former station built in 1963.  

Equipment and Personnel:

1 front line engine with 1 Captain and 2-3 Firefighters, they cross staff a 100 foot ladder truck and a brush rig

1 full time ambulance with 2 paramedics

 1 Battalion Chief

 

 

Station 4

This station was built in 1964 at 2580 Dahlia St this was the former City station 2. This station was originally designed for two full time personnel per day.

 

Equipment and Personnel:

1 front line engine with 1 Captain and 2 Firefighters, they cross staff an ambulance

 

This station also houses 1 backup engine

 

administrative station

This station was built in 1931 at 143 North Broad St. It was the former City station 1. No active fire crews work out of this station as it serves to house our District Administration.
